To quote from the Laura A Pace Art blog:
"This is a small portion, a taste if you will from a glorious sunrise we experienced. This was while on vacation one year on Tybee Island, GA. It was practically breathtaking to watch the sun arrive inch by inch above the ocean and amongst the clouds that morning. I took way too many photos of it, but not enough, as I wanted to live it in real life too.
I started this painting with palette knife and finished it with brushwork. All color mixing was done on the board itself. This is by layers or juxtaposition, as opposed to mixing colors on the palette first then applying them to the painting."
I'm tired at the end of a long week so that will be about it for today.
Ever onward my glorious friends.
The light you have captured is amazing, Laura! Those clouds seem to be boiling. I guess you are an illusionist!
ReplyDeleteThat morning was amazing, Renate. I look at the photos from then, and am immediately transported back. I really tried to capture the absolute awe I felt as I watched the sun not just come up that morning, but rather erupt into our lives.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors Laura and lots of wonderful juicy paint.
